A river crossing between northern Iraq and Syria is helping citizens to buy essential supplies.

A border crossing between the Kurdish region of northern Iraq and Syria has become a lifeline for thousands of Syrians.
About 150 people cross the river every day, seeking refuge or to buy essential supplies, carrying what they can back to their homes.
The open border allows people to bring back the basic foodstuff their families need to survive, as many items are in short supply in Syria.
Al Jazeera’s Omar al-Saleh reports from Fieshkhabor on the Iraqi-Syrian border.
