Afghanistan keen observer of Pakistan polls
Kabul closely monitoring landmark election but any reconciliation between neighbouring states seems remote.

Afghanistan is watching closely as neighbouring Pakistan goes to the polls in a landmark election.
The two countries have had a tumultous relationship, marred by territory disputes, rocket attacks and fighting between soldiers.
Afghan President Hamid Karzai has repeatedly said Pakistan harbours fighters and wants to destabilise Afghanistan.
