Afghan villages uneasy over NATO withdrawal

Residents in central provinces say Taliban have started recruiting in anticipation of possible power vacuum.

NATO has scheduled to end combat operations in Afghanistan by the end of this year and plans to hand security operations over to Afghan forces.

But residents of the Ghor province are worried that the disappearance of the military alliance will allow more Taliban fighters and other armed groups to enter their villages.

Villagers say that some have already been recruited to join these groups.

Al Jazeera’s Jennifer Glasse reports from Ghor.
