Kuwaiti opposition defies crackdown

Opposition groups in Gulf nation call for more anti-government protests after one of their own is jailed.

Unrest in Kuwait continues with more calls for protests. Opposition groups have been mobilising supporters after a court sentenced one of their leaders to five years in jail for insulting the country’s rulers.

But Mossalam Al barrak refuses to hand himself in, and his supporters are camped outside his family home in solidarity.
