Officials in southern Tamil Nadu state want investigation into Sri Lanka’s treatment of ethnic Tamils during civil war.

Relations between India’s Tamil Nadu state and Sri Lanka are getting worse, with cases of Sri Lankans reportedly facing abuse and harassment in the southern Indian state.

The tension stems from the state government’s calls to investigate Sri Lanka’s treatment of ethnic Tamils during the last years of its civil war.
