Thailand cracks down on illegal logging

High demand for rosewood prompts authorities to step up efforts to prevent smuggling.

Prized for its rich colour and sweet smell, rosewood is becoming increasingly rare due to illegal logging, prompting Thailand and Vietnam to seek stricter rules on its trade.

The two countries have put forward their case at an international conservation conference in the capital, Bangkok.
