The price of basic goods in Syria has skyrocketed after nearly two years of conflict.  

Everything from cooking oil to petrol now costs several times what it did before the war began.

As a consequence, Syrians are now forced to recycle certain hazardous materials. Some residents of Aleppo have even been buring old army boots for fuel.
