Japan tradition revived to preserve forests

Some farmers are using age-old horse logging method to counter alarming deforestation rate.

On International Day of Forests, the United Nations aims to raise awareness of the alarming rate at which forests are disappearing across the world.

In an attempt to help preserve woods in Japan, some farmers are reviving an age-old method of harvesting trees, which involves using horses instead of machines, to help keep forests healthy.
