New York’s ‘stop-and-frisk’ policy under fire

The New York City police practice of stopping, questioning and frisking people on the street is about to face its biggest legal challenge.

A civil rights group is taking police to court over claims that the so-called stop and frisk policy targets minorities. They say that 85 percent of those approached by authorities are minorities and less than two percent of them are actually charged with a crime.
