London rail site yields ‘plague pit’

Discovery of skeletons may shed light on spread of Black Death, which killed millions in the 14th century.

A 14th century plague pit has been unearthed during rail tunnel excavations in London.

At least 13 skeletons have been found so far. It is hoped the discovery will shed more light on the spread of the Black Death, which killed tens of millions in just a few years.
