Syria strife leaves rebel-held town divided

Town in Idlib province is controlled by rebels, but many residents remain on government payroll.

Syria’s two-year-long conflict has created a mix of government and rebel-held regions.

That means divided loyalties, as citizens try to survive day-by-day.

One such area is the town of Salqin, in northwest Idlib province. The rebels control the town, but the government is still paying the people’s wages.

Al Jazeera’s Zeina Khodr reports from Salqin.
