Bangladesh divided over war crime convictions

Protests are continuing across Bangladesh as tens of thousands of people call for the death penalty for convicted war criminals.

One of them is Abdul Quader Mollah, who was handed a life sentence for his role in the 1971 war for independence against Pakistan.

Activists say the punishment was too lenient but members of the Jamaat-e-Islami Party say it was politically motivated.

An Al Jazeera special correspondent travelled to Dhaka and filed this report.
