Bolivia farmer leaves nothing out about coca

Account follows UN acknowledgement of Bolivians’ right to chew coca leaves as traditional medicine.

Bolivia has formally re-joined the United Nation’s treaty aimed at eradicating narcotic drugs.

The Andean nation persuaded members to accept Bolivians’ right to chew coca leaves as a traditional remedy.

Even so, the US and some other countries are still concerned because the leaves are also used to make cocaine.
