One of the US cities hit hardest by the global downturn was its once mighty car-making capital, Detroit.
As the auto giants driving the economy teetered on the brink of collapse, so did much of the city.
But the city is now undergoing a transformation through alternative entrepreneurial developments after learning some lessons from the past.
Al Jazeera’s John Hendren reports from Detroit.
