One of Hezbollah leaders killed in Beirut

The group accuses Israel for the killing of Hassan Al-Laqqiss in front of his home in the Lebanese capital.

The Lebanese armed group Hezbollah has said one of its commanders was killed outside his house in Beirut, blaming its life-long enemy Israel for the assassination.

“Around midnight on Tuesday, one of commanders of resistance, Hassan Al-Laqqis, was assassinated in front of his house in the Saint Teres area of Hadath, as he returned from work,” the group said in a statement published on its Al Manar newspaper.

“The direct accusation falls on the enemy Israel,” the statement said, without giving any details on how the operation took place.
