The Lebanese armed group Hezbollah has said one of its commanders was killed outside his house in Beirut, blaming its life-long enemy Israel for the assassination.
“Around midnight on Tuesday, one of commanders of resistance, Hassan Al-Laqqis, was assassinated in front of his house in the Saint Teres area of Hadath, as he returned from work,” the group said in a statement published on its Al Manar newspaper.
“The direct accusation falls on the enemy Israel,” the statement said, without giving any details on how the operation took place.
