Brazil fights World Cup induced stereotypes
About 1.5m people live in Rio’s poor neighbourhoods and many residents see these areas as places of community.

With less than six months to go before the football World Cup, Brazil is trying to clean up Rio De Janeiro’s image.
It has increased police presence in hundreds of shanty towns.
But most people living in the city are fighting what they see as a stereotype of their neighbourhoods.
