Musharraf accuses Pakistan PM of ‘vendetta’

Talking exclusively to Al Jazeera, former military ruler Musharraf claims Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is out to get him.

Pakistan’s former military ruler Pervez Musharraf has denounced treason charges against him as a “vendetta”, and said he had the backing of the country’s powerful army in the case.

In his first international television interview since he was released from house arrest last month, he accused the government of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, whom he ousted in a coup in 1999, of being vindictive.

Al Jazeera’s Imtiaz Tyab reports.
