Fate of UN aid route to Syria up in the air

Humanitarian flights could face shutdown without political agreement from Syrian, Iraqi and Kurdish leaders.

Since December 17, the United Nations has been running aid flights into Syria from northern Iraq.

The flights have provided a lifeline to some of the four million internally displaced people still trapped in the war-torn country.

But these flights are about to come to an end if political leaders from Damascus as well as the Iraqi and Kurdish governments cannot reach a political deal.

Al Jazeera’s Imran Khan reports from Erbil in the Kurdistan region.
