Fighting has continued in South Sudan despite regional efforts to broker a ceasefire. In the oil-producing Unity state, government troops and their opponents are fighting for control of the regional capital, Bentiu.
Hundreds of thousands of people have been displaced as a result. Most of them live in overcrowded UN camps across the country.
There are plans to bring in reinforcements from UN peacekeeping missions in Liberia, Ivory Coast and the DR Congo.
