Moscow has been facing 18 hours of darkness a day through the winter after the country abandoned daylight savings time.

Moscow’s streets have been lit up as part of an attempt by the Kremlin to shine some light into people’s lives.
 
After scrapping daylight savings hours, many people in Russia have complained that they live their lives in near total darkness.
