Russia gas deal angers Armenians

Protest comes after parliament votes to sign a deal giving control of the country’s gas industry to Russia for 30 years.

Protests have been taking place in Armenia’s capital, Yerevan, over a trade pact with Russia.

The government is accused of signing away the national gas company as part of a deal to join a Russian-led Customs union.

Demonstrators say the deal basically hands over control of Armenia’s gas industry to Russia for the next 30 years.
