Lampedusa, Italy’s largest island, is a gateway for those wanting to start a new life in the Europe. But in October, more than 350 people died when their boat sank in one of Europe’s worst migrant tragedies.

Al Jazeera’s Claudio Lavanga meets one man who was among the first at the scene and is haunted by what happened.
