Sri Lanka surveying cost of civil war

Thousands of census officers are visiting each household in the country to record who has been affected by the war.

Sri Lanka’s long war with the Tamil Tigers killed and injured thousands of people.
 
But until now the exact cost of the conflict hasn’t been known.
 
Under pressure from foreign governments and facing accusations of war crimes, Sri Lanka is starting a nationwide survey to find out.
