Thailand’s protest leader meets military

The man leading thousands of protesters trying to unseat the government has met with Thailand’s army chiefs.

Thailand’s military has staged, or attempted, 18 coups in the last 80 years. Most recently, it overthrew Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra in 2006.

Now the man leading thousands of protesters trying to unseat the government of Thaksin’s sister, Yingluck, has met the head of the armed forces.
