Supermarket aimed at UK’s poorest opens

The UK’s first supermarket aimed at helping the country’s poorest has opened its doors in northern England.

The ‘Social Supermarket’ claims to be Britain’s cheapest food store with prices up to 70 percent lower than other shops.

Already tried and tested in Spain and Greece, the scheme provides communities most in need with surplus food from big-chain supermarkets.
