Activists demand change in Nepali rape laws

Efforts mount to change laws to address high volume of rape cases, as activists say existing laws remain discriminatory.

According to human rights groups, three girls are raped every 48 hours in Nepal, but incidents that go unreported are much higher.

Activists say Nepal’s existing rape law is discriminatory and victims do not have access to justice.

Al Jazeera’s Subina Shrestha reports from Kathmandu, where she met those working to try and pass the bill on violence against women.
