Libya peace threatened by militias

After wave of assassinations, troops move into streets of Benghazi to try and restore law and order.

Many people in Libya had high hopes for their nation after the end of Muammar Gaddafi’s reign.

Today though, the country is being held hostage by some of the same people who overthrew him.

Libyan troops have moved into the streets of Benghazi to try to restore order after a wave of attacks and assassinations in recent months. The government is struggling to control armed groups across the country.

Al Jazeera’s Bhanu Bhatnagar reports.
