Shia Muslim Houthi rebels are fighting Sunni Muslim fighters in the Yemeni town of Dammaj, north of the capital Sanaa.
The Red Cross has now been given access to the besieged town. At least 58 people have been killed in clashes between the two sides in the last week.
The violence is threatening to derail the drafting of a new constitution.
