Recent cut to federal food stamps programme forces poorer Americans to use food banks to hold Thanksgiving feasts.

Many Americans began the holiday season with Thanksgiving feasts on Thursday. But a recent $5bn budget cut to the federal food stamps programme has made it harder for the poorest people in the US to feed their families. And now many are turning to food banks to make ends meet.
