Kachins flee fresh fighting in Myanmar

At least 85,000 people abandon their homes to avoid clashes between government troops and Kachin rebels.

Aid groups in Myanmar’s Kachin state are struggling to deal with thousands of families who fled their villages.

Families abandoned their areas of residence following the latest outbreak of clashes between Myanmar government troops and the Kachin Independence Army, a rebel group.

Living under dire conditions, they’re scared the conflict will intensify.
