Philippine neighbours steer storm relief

Asian nations with experience of disasters help guide response and aid distribution for typhoon survivors.

The Philippine government has been criticised for its slow response to Typhoon Haiyan, and for failing to provide aid early on to areas hard-hit by the storm almost two weeks ago.

But many Asian countries helping out in Haiyan’s aftermath are bringing their expertise and experience handling similar disasters to the relief effort.

They hope to teach the Philippines how to execute an emergency response and get aid to those that need it most.
