Iran economy hampered by sanctions

Economists blame sanctions and government mismanagement for country’s skyrocketing inflation and unemployment.

Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani was elected on a wave of promises. Not only to repair relations with the West, but also to fix the troubled economy.

But the two issues are very much intertwined. Economists blame sanctions against the country and government mismanagement for the economic crisis.
