US Defence Department recalls workers

The US Defence Department is recalling thousands of staff sent home last week as part of a government shutdown.

They have been forced to take unpaid leave for five days after Congress failed to agree on a budget.

But the Defence Secretary has used a law passed this week that allows most of his staff back to work.
