Malaysia seeks to control plague of rats
Campaign launched to contain number of rodents after rat-borne disease outbreak is blamed for 28 deaths.

It is estimated that there are eight rats for every human in the world, which puts Malaysia’s rat population at more than 220 million.
The government there has now launched a campaign to contain the number of rodents after an outbreak of a rat-borne disease left 28 people dead.
