Somalia’s uphill battle against al-Shabab
AU mission aiding Mogadishu says more troops and resources needed to land final blow to armed group.

The recent attack on Kenya’s Westgate shopping mall that left 67 people dead had exposed the difficulty in fighting al-Shabab fighters, who are based in Somalia.
African Union troops, who are at the frontline of the war with the armed group in Somalia, face an uphill struggle to land a final blow against it.
AU military officials say they need more troops and resources in order to defeat the group.
