Africa’s silent killer stalks Senegal

Cancer now biggest cause of women’s deaths in the country as fight against HIV and malaria remains health priority.

The fight against HIV and malaria has been a health priority for many countries in Africa. But cancer rates have also been on the rise, and in most countries, there is no funding for treatment. In Senegal, for instance, breast cancer is a leading cause of death for women, yet the disease is largely ignored.
