End of road for Myanmar’s timber elephants

Ban on timber exports aimed at curbing deforestation will leave elephants out of work.

After decades of military rule, Myanmar is embracing economic reforms. 

By April next year, raw timber exports will be banned in an effort to curb deforestation.

But that leaves an uncertain future for Myanmar’s legendary and hardworking timber elephants.
