Nigeria sees rise in drug resistant TB

Drug resistant tuberculosis is a growing problem across Africa, where countries lack funds to offer adequate treatment.

Drug resistant tuberculosis is form of the airborne disease that can not be treated by the two drugs normally used to cure it.

In its latest reports, the World Heath Organization is calling for drug resistant tuberculosis to be declared a ‘global public health crisis’, as number of patients across Africa continues to grow.
