Retrials begin for Egyptian football fans

Dozens died after violence broke out at a match between two local teams in Port Said last year.

Eleven Egyptian football fans convicted over deadly riots in the city of Port Said begin their retrials on Tuesday. Up to 74 fans died after violence at a match between Al-Ahly and Al-Masry clubs last year. Many say the convictions are political and that no evidence was brought against them.

Al Jazeera’s Sue Turton reports from Port Said.
