Mexico’s housing scheme hits snag
Government gives up on trying to provide affordable homes for low-income families despite rising demand.

Mexico has one of the biggest housing gaps in Latin America.
More than 8.5 million new homes over the next 12 years will need to be built in order to meet demand.
For the past decade the government has been partnering with commercial developers to try and provide affordable homes to Mexican families, but now many of those developments are barely populated.
Al Jazeera’s Rachel Levin reports from La Trinidad in Mexico.
