Obama’s Pentagon pick to face US senate
Chuck Hagel will face tough grilling from Republicans who have questioned his fitness for the job.

Chuck Hagel, a Vietnam war veteran and former US senator from the state of Nebraska, has been nominated as President Barack Obama’s next defence secretary.
On Thursday, he is going to be questioned at a senate confirmation hearing.
But Hagel has already faced a lot of questions, mostly from his fellow Republicans, over his fitness for the job.
