Malian women recount year of abuse

Three women describe the rape, torture and beatings they suffered under al-Qaeda-linked fighters for nearly a year.

More details are emerging of what life was like under the group Ansar Dine in Timbuktu.

On Monday, French troops took Timbuktu, forcing fighters to flee into the surrounding desert.

Now, Malian women recount the rape, torture and beatings they suffered under the al-Qaeda-linked fighters for nearly a year.
