Syria tensions spill over to Australia
Echo of conflict played out on Australian streets between backers of Bashar al-Assad and opposition supporters.

It is estimated there are nearly 200 Australians in Syria, either doing humanitarian work or fighting alongside the rebels.
Australia’s government has made it clear that any Australian fighting there would be breaking the law.
Yet even for those who are staying put, the conflict is still hitting very close to home.
There has been conflict between backers of Syrian president Bashar al-Assad and opposition supporters in Australia.
Al Jazeera’s Andrew Thomas reports from Sydney.
