Philippine banana industry hurt by typhoon

Farmers say recovery will take long months after Bopha destroyed vast swathes of banana crops.

Three months after Typhoon Bopha wreaked havoc in the Philippines, millions of people are still struggling with the aftermath.

Among them are banana farmers, who say it will take at least two years to recover after more than 500 hectares of the crop were destroyed the strongest typhoon that hit the country’s south.
