US candidates overlook issue of poverty
A growing number of Americans live below poverty line, yet neither candidate emphasises the issue.

Democrats from across the United States are in North Carolina for the party’s national convention which begins on Tuesday.
The event is an opportunity for Barack Obama and his party to lay out their agenda for the 2012 presidential elections.
An estimated 46 million people are living in poverty in the US, but neither candidate has much addressed the issue of poverty.
Al Jazeera’s Rob Reynolds reports from Charlotte, North Carolina.
