Russian activist may pose threat in new bid
Well-known opposition member sets out to become mayor of Khimki, a town close to the capital.

Yevgenia Chirikova, a well-known opposition Russian activist, made a name for herself during mass protests against President Vladimir Putin late last year.
She has now announced her decision to join the contest for mayorship of a suburb of Khimki on the outskirts of Moscow.
Given the suburb’s proximity to the capital, if Chirikova succeeds, she could make more then just a big name for herself.
Al Jazeera’s Melissa Chan reports from Khimki.
