In India, the government of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is losing popularity after being dogged by corruption allegations and scandals involving coal contracts and mobile phone licenses.
But his supporters say that Singh, a well-respected economist who improved India’s fortunes in the early 1990s and has been called one of India’s most successful leaders, can overcome these challenges.
