Curiosity set to explore surface of Mars

After surviving 50-million-kilometer trip, NASA rover readies for first exploration of Red Planet.

NASA’s rover Curiosity is poised to make its first major journey on Mars.

The nearly one-tonne vehicle landed on the surface of the Red Planet six weeks ago.

Engineers are now wrapping up instrument checks and clearing the way for its mission on Mars.
