UK squatters face eviction after law change
Protests as up to 20,000 people face possible eviction, including some of society’s most vulnerable.

Up to 20,000 squatters in England and Wales could face possible eviction after a change in the law.
From Saturday it will be a criminal offence to squat in a residential property, meaning homeowners will no longer need to go to court in order to secure an eviction.
The change has prompted protests, as lawyers representing the homeless say the new law will criminalise the most vulnerable in British society.
