Australia readies Nauru island asylum centre

Controversial offshore processing sites meant to deter migrants from trying to reach Australia by boat.

Australian soldiers have arrived in the Pacific island of Nauru to work on a detention centre for asylum seekers.

The government hopes such offshore processing will illegal migrants from trying to get to Australia by boat.

The move has been tried before, with mixed results.
